Cross Country Race Report by James Y6

This week we had the first Cross-Country race of 2017. The event took place at Southam College (in Southam) and the girls’ race started at 10:30 am. The contestants from our school were the following: Lottie, Laura and Celine.

One of the officials started the race, and all of our girls had a good start, striding into the top 50. As the race carried on, the other contestants got tired, but our girls kept on going strong. They finished with incredible scores of 38th for Lottie, 41st for Laura and 52nd for Celine.

The boys’ race started half an hour later, our contestants being Daniel, James and James. The race began and Daniel strode into the top 40. Being behind, James and James started to pick up their pace and managed to stay just about in the top 100. Again, most other racers got tired near to the end, and everyone really pushed it to get to the finish line. In the end, the scores of our boys were: 39th for Daniel, 96th for James, 113th for the other James. Well done to everyone that took part and to Mrs Jordan who organises the Cross-Country.

Also, congratulations to the gymnastics team for getting to the county finals. Everyone will support you!
